Irene Haupeakui, our Sportsperson of the Year, is a standout athlete and leader who exemplifies Alfriston College’s core values through her achievements in multiple sports. She has captained and led school teams to top finishes in futsal, basketball, rugby, and netball, earning MVP titles along the way. Beyond school, Irene represents the Tongan U18 Barbarians 7’s and 15’s teams—securing MVP honors and winning the Moana Pasifika Cup—and was selected for both the Counties Manukau and Hakula Tonga Aotearoa U18 rugby teams. Her commitment and excellence extend to premier netball and open women’s tennis.
